Ruth, One of My Favorite Books from the Bible
When Ruth moved to Bethlehem with Naomi, her mother-in-law, she, as a widow, had empty hands. Moreover, she was a foreigner in Israel. Nobody could be more miserable than her. However, she did not give up her life nor abjure God. Although everyone did have their own ways in Israel, this young woman, a Moabite, kept precious faith in God. The Lord inserted a beautiful story between 'Judges' and 'Kings' in the Bible. He lets us know an important message, the story of His kingdom. The story of Ruth is good news for the insignificant. God praised her as a woman of noble character and blessed her through Boaz. Eventually she was able to participate in building up the house of Israel. As Ruth did, I would like to do whatever God commands me, and be remembered as a participant building His kingdom where I stand.
